Simpsons-ception: Watch The Simpsons on a tiny Simpsons' TV

Consider Homer Simpson's craze-induced foray into the stark reality of life without TV (or beer); while this won't help whet his whistle, he could have been spared at least some of his madness by keeping this pocket-sized clone of his family TV nearby. Granted, it only plays episodes of The Simpsons. On loop. Forever. (On second thought, maybe some degree of insanity is unavoidable...)

Check out the itty bitty TV I built in the video below:

Worst. Episode. Ever.

The "tube" of this old-fashioned TV set is a Raspberry Pi Zero W running PipaOS. There's a tiny LCD display, a small speaker, a 3D-printed enclosure, and a bunch of other minutiae going on behind the screen.

The top knob functions as a click-in power switch for the LCD—the Pi constantly runs in the background to emulate the always-on cable TV feel—while the bottom knob spins, as one would expect, to control the device's volume.

You can find more information, along with the full build instructions to make your own, over at Brandon Withrow's website.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some episodes of The Simpsons to binge. (Again.)
